Some plugins have been disabled
I had to disable some plugins as they were hogging too much CPU time. If you have been using one of these plugins, don't be surprised that they're gone now:
- serendipity_event_autosave
- serendipity_event_backendrss
- serendipity_event_backup
- serendipity_event_statistics
- serendipity_event_comics
- serendipity_event_gravatar
I hope that isn't too annoying! Sorry...

Can't change your blog title?
If you had trouble changing the title and description of your blog (changes would not appear to users, only to admin) - sorry for that! It was a little bug that made it into s9y, but it has been fixed and you guys should now be able to get rid of this lame default-blog-title. :-)
Enjoy!

Version bump to 1.0-alpha1
Just a short note that I have upgraded the s9y-version in use, we're now again up to current svn. That means all subscribers are enjoying s9y 1.0-alpha1. If you note anything unusual, please tell me. As usual ;-)
For all people on a Mac out there: I just fixed the bug, that wouldn't let you upload images to your media library with Safari.
Have fun!

Software update to beta3
Hey folks, I just bumped the version from beta-1 to the current svn snapshot, we're back on the bleeding edge :-) For you, of course, this means nothing but pure configuration pleasure again.
If you weren't able to use the "Configuration" item of the "Administration" section in your blog, I can assure you that this limitation should no longer prevent you from doing nice things like adjusting your blog's headline, time offset (to match your local timezone), and so on.

Glitches removed
Hey guys, just a short note that some glitches have been removed and the software has been updated. You're now running 0.9-beta1, and the user-management should be working like a charm again. Thanks to all the people who reported this problem...
As usual, if you have anything in your blog you want to complain about, this is where all threatening letters go ;)

supersized blogs attacked by trackback-spam
It had to happen sooner or later. There has been a rush of trackback spam on blogs hosted at supersized.org. As it lies in the nature of trackbacks to be submitted automatically, by a machine, the sophisticated anti-spam mechanisms that work so well for normal user-comments can not be applied.
I have therefore deactivated trackback-comments for all blogs on supersized.org, except for those, who have changed the settings for comments submitted via the API. Their setting is now "moderate" which means they receive an email for each trackback that has been made. The trackback won't appear on your blog until you have allowed it to be displayed.
Sorry for "removing" the trackback feature, but I assume you don't want to have 300 emails a day that contain a moderation request for trackback spam.
If you want to cope with that and enable your visitors to submit trackbacks, blog-configuration page, click "Configure Plugins", scroll down and select the "Spam protector" plugin and adjust the "How to treat comments made via APIs" setting.
UPDATE:
To make things clear, some more words. Only "incoming" trackbacks have been blocked. If you write an entry and reference another website or blog-entry, your supersized-blog will still send out trackbacks and announce entries on blog-syndication sites (if you want it to).

Update and bugfix
Due to some potential vulnerabilities in the BBCode Plugin the s9y-version powering supersized.org has been upgraded and a bug has been fixed that prevented users from adding a comment to an entry. This bug appeared on another update the day before yesterday (thanks for reporting, supersized.org/" title="Dennis' supersized-blog">Dennis).
Apart from that, I have added a supersized.org" href="http://www.supersized.org/people.php">people section on supersized.org - it currently contains the last 20 posts that have been published via supersized.org. As there are more than 400 blogs registered with supersized.org" title="free blog hosting">supersized.org, I will add a search interface to find blogs, a top 10 list and more soon in the future. It's about time.
Happy blogging!

Load me up
System loads of 90 and more. The funny thing is, that while the load explodes, the number of processes doesn't peak at all, and while the memory usage rises it doesn't go as crazy. Check this out (and the screenshot above, of course):
