Something on my server is spawning freaking wild httpds every once in a while. I haven't found a clear cause yet, but I am thinking it's the coWiki serving
www.s9y.org. It looked so promising and is actually a really neat piece of wiki-software, but unfortunately has been a rude wiki a couple of times already, and I don't know of anything else that could be the cause. The cause for what, you wonder?
System loads of 90 and more. The funny thing is, that while the load explodes, the number of processes doesn't peak at all, and while the memory usage rises it doesn't go as crazy. Check this out (and the screenshot above, of course):
