Page restructuring

Dear supersized.org users,

as you may have already noticed, each blog now displays a subtile advertisement top of the actual content. I moved it there to see if it works better than the tiny google ad block that is currently sitting in the sidebar. Please tell me if you can live with the way it is now, or if it annoys the hell out of you. :-)

If I end up keeping it up there, the little google ad block in your sidebar entitled "bling" will of course disappear.

I'm looking forward to your opinions, either here as a comment or through email.

Thanks for your time,
Jannis.

hm, I realy cannot say, that I like these new design very much. :-( It is realy not "subtile" and I think it destroys the design of each blog-theme. The Bling-block fits very good in a blog-design - and if it would be important for you (and the finance of this blog-service) I can make the block more to the top of the sidebar - but PLEASE delete the "header"-advertisment. Ciao and thanks for the service!

I hear you. How about the way it is now? I have changed from a full blown ad-block of 100px height to just ad keywords, 20px in height. Another thing I could imagine is, the more actively somebody uses his blog, the smaller become the ads. :-)

It is better, much more better! But, take a look at http://tagg.selfip.com/blog/callboy-torsten-schluss-mit-lustig/ - it would - can I speak german here? I think so: Es wäre in dieser Form (gerne auch nur als Ad-Zeile) kein Fremdkörper mehr. Momentan so oben dran ist es immer noch ein Fremdkörper, finde ich. Wobei es in http://tagg.selfip.com/blog/ noch besser aussieht, da ist die Werbung nicht zwischen Datum und Titel. in english: on the top it is like an alien in the blog - in the example it is more integreated. I think. "Another thing I could imagine is, the more actively somebody uses his blog, the smaller become the ads. :-)": Yeah! :-)

Now, you have put the ads under the article - this is realy not good! It seems to be a part of the article and in my opinion ads never should be part of articles!!! Please: Use only the ads on the top of the page as you did in the last days. Or, when you need the full-blown ad-block, then make it like this blog http://tagg.selfip.com/blog/callboy-torsten-schluss-mit-lustig/ There the ads are not a visual part of the article, there is a strict distinction. And by the way: It would be nice, when you make it in the one way OR the other. double ads :-( Please!

You're replying in the wrong thread, I have made another posting :-) The blog you are referring to displays the ad above the entry which I thought is more annoying / distracting. So you would favor the ad above the article instead of below it? As I said, I'm just giving different possibilities a shot here. I think that the ads are fair - you're getting a "pretty good" blog for free. Pretty good as in more features than most of the other blog hosts with less ads. And I'm just a person running this service, there's no company or nothing backing it up (financially). And, as I also said, I don't want to upset my users. So I'm trying to find a solution here that makes everyone happy (or not sad, at least)...
