Some plugins have been disabled
I had to disable some plugins as they were hogging too much CPU time. If you have been using one of these plugins, don't be surprised that they're gone now:
- serendipity_event_autosave
- serendipity_event_backendrss
- serendipity_event_backup
- serendipity_event_statistics
- serendipity_event_comics
- serendipity_event_gravatar
I hope that isn't too annoying! Sorry...

New template "Modern World"
The "Modern World" template has just been integrated to the supersized.org system. Feel free to give it a try, it's a great looking theme:
Who are you?
Each blog is a personal site, and your visitors want to know who's words they're reading! Therefore I have installed the "static pages" plugin for all of you. It allows you, obviously, to create static pages: Popular ones are topics like About me, Contact Information and Photos. Some templates already contain links to these pages. If your template does not display these links, you can add a HTML-Nugget plugin and paste the following code into it:
<ul>
<li><a href="/about.html" title="About me">About me</a></li>
<li><a href="/contact.html" title="Contact information">Contact me</a></li>
<li><a href="/photos.html" title="Picutres">Pictures</a></li>
</ul>
Enjoy the rest of the sunday :-)

More fiddeling around with the ads
Please tell me what you think of this, as it is not final - I'm just giving different possibilities a try :-)
Also I have been thinking about a "reward" system: The more entries you write, the less ads are displayed. How does that sound? I don't want to upset my "power users" :-)

Page restructuring
Dear supersized.org users,
as you may have already noticed, each blog now displays a subtile advertisement top of the actual content. I moved it there to see if it works better than the tiny google ad block that is currently sitting in the sidebar. Please tell me if you can live with the way it is now, or if it annoys the hell out of you. :-)
If I end up keeping it up there, the little google ad block in your sidebar entitled "bling" will of course disappear.
I'm looking forward to your opinions, either here as a comment or through email.
Thanks for your time,
Jannis.
supersized.org update
Writing a blog but nobody reads it? These times are over, as with every new entry you write, a screenshot of your blog will appear on each page of www.supersized.org. The screenshots are created via sitesnat.ch, a great place to make web screenshots/homepage thumbnails. :-)
I'll also add a dedicated page that lists recently posted blog entries at supersized.org and a search form, for your convenience. If you have other features to suggest, feel free to tell me about it.
Take care!

Can't change your blog title?
If you had trouble changing the title and description of your blog (changes would not appear to users, only to admin) - sorry for that! It was a little bug that made it into s9y, but it has been fixed and you guys should now be able to get rid of this lame default-blog-title. :-)
Enjoy!

Version bump to 1.0-alpha1
Just a short note that I have upgraded the s9y-version in use, we're now again up to current svn. That means all subscribers are enjoying s9y 1.0-alpha1. If you note anything unusual, please tell me. As usual ;-)
For all people on a Mac out there: I just fixed the bug, that wouldn't let you upload images to your media library with Safari.
Have fun!

Software update to beta3
Hey folks, I just bumped the version from beta-1 to the current svn snapshot, we're back on the bleeding edge :-) For you, of course, this means nothing but pure configuration pleasure again.
If you weren't able to use the "Configuration" item of the "Administration" section in your blog, I can assure you that this limitation should no longer prevent you from doing nice things like adjusting your blog's headline, time offset (to match your local timezone), and so on.
